Following swiftly on from the double-album Disc 875 came the 78rpm triple album Disc 876. Four sides featured the premiere recording of piano concerto Lousadzak (Coming of Light) with Maro Ajemian on piano, while the two remaining sides fetured Tzaikerk (Evening Song), with Anahid Ajemian on violin and Phillip Kaplan on flute. The orchestra on both works was conducted by Hovhaness.
The cover featured a caricature of the composer with the simple title "Alan Hovhaness Orchestral Compositions". The initial price of the three-disc set was $5.98, and the first 300 were autographed by the composer.
